ACS e-Recording Solution for California Counties Passes Critical Test.

: ACS (Asynchronous Communications Server) See network access server. ) today announced that its innovative e-recording solution, developed for a consortium of California counties, has passed its first test and is scheduled for deployment in late March.

ACS is developing the Electronic Recording Delivery System (ERDS ERDS Equipment Removal Data Sheet ) for the California Electronic Recording Transaction Network Authority (CeRTNA), an organization of counties sharing expertise and resources in the design, development, implementation and operation of an ERDS that supports statewide standards for the e-recording and return of documents.

The ACS-developed e-recording system allows submitters, such as title agents, banks, lenders and local governments, to electronically send land record documents to county recorders County Recorder may mean any of the following, in the context of a county:
  • a recorder of deeds
  • a recorder of wildlife
. This system is the first ERDS in the country slated to be state-certified for document security. For counties, the system will save money, time and paper; both counties and submitters will benefit from more accurate processing, and increased efficiency and flexibility.

When testing is complete, Fresno County will be the first county certified See certification.  by California's Office of the Attorney General to use the ERDS system on a day-to-day basis. Other participating counties are expected to follow soon.
