ACS Announces New Corporate Communications Organization.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Alaska Communications Systems Group, Inc. ("ACS") (NASDAQ:ALSK), Alaska's leading integrated communications provider, today announced the appointment of Melinda Taylor and Meghan Stapleton as its Directors of Corporate Communications. Together they will oversee the full range of communications functions including media relations, community relations and serving as spokespersons for ACS.

Background on Taylor

Taylor has been the communications director for IBEW Local 1547 since 2002. In this capacity she handled all aspects of external and internal communications for one of the largest labor unions in Alaska. Prior to that, she served as a Constituent Relations Assistant for former Governor Tony Knowles, focusing on special projects, constituent and media communications. Melinda also served on the Anchorage Municipal Assembly, the governing body for Alaska's largest city, from 1998-2004.

Background on Stapleton

Stapleton has been with KTUU-TV, NBC's Anchorage affiliate, since 2000 serving in a series of roles including managing editor and award winning reporter/anchor. In addition to prior positions at other television stations, Meghan worked on Capitol Hill as a speechwriter and Director of Scheduling and Advance for the Co-Chairman of the Republican National Committee. Meghan's extensive community involvement has focused on the areas of youth and education.
