Atlantic Client Server, Inc., today announced Office Appliances(TM), the first complete, scalable, Linux-based, small office server. 4 inches high with the power of a Celeron processor, Office Appliances offer file & printer sharing, and automated tape backup with an Easy Use web-based interface. Windows and Unix quickly and seamlessly connect to Office Appliances over a network. Office Appliances is a new breed of modular servers that can grow quickly, adding capacity and capabilities as a business grows.

Although Network servers have been traditionally geared to larger businesses and do not offer the ease of use and affordability needed for small business applications, Office Appliances is targeted toward the Small/Medium business (SMB) sector. It represents an ideal solution for SMB's and remote offices which require easy to manage, network server systems in a small footprint, where in-house technical expertise is at a premium.

Appliance computing has recently become widely popular, and industry analysts predict that shipments will increase by 25 percent for each of the next five years.
