In "Fog and Friction: A Clausewitzian Perspective on Why Physicians are Losing the Malpractice War," Steigman applied Prussian military philosopher Carl von Clausewitz' theories on war to the current malpractice climate, identifying self-sabotaging attitudes and behaviors as well as ways physicians may become more effective in dealing with their adversaries.
