"The Phaser 5400 combines the superior speed, performance, resolution and paper handling characteristics of big departmental printers with the affordability of workgroup, or network models," Church said. "It is powered by a 266 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  processor and features standard 32 MB of memory, print speed of 40 pages per minute, nine-second first-page-out time, 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution and a duty cycle of 200,000 pages per month. We believe that it outperforms other printers in its class in all of the areas important to ACOM's customers."

Church, the Xerox Phaser 5400 MICR-Enhanced Laser Printer Solution from ACOM is an ideal, affordable dedicated solution for companies with relatively high check volumes as well as for companies that want a unit that can perform both MICR and conventional printing tasks.

ACOM's enhancements include toner An electrically charged ink used in copy machines and laser printers. It adheres to an invisible image that has been charged with the opposite polarity onto a plate or drum or onto the paper itself.  sensors that prevent MICR check printing unless MICR toner is installed; a three-position keylock switch (MICR On, MICR Off, Printer Off); customized MICR font and toner engineered specifically for use with the Phaser 5400, and an external PCMCIA card See PC Card.  reader for secure storage and use of sensitive corporate information such as MICR fonts, signatures, and corporate identity elements. Insertion of the card into the reader downloads the information to printer memory and removal automatically erases the information from memory.

The MICR-enhanced solution is available in two models: Model One is for dedicated MICR-only assignments; Model Two, with the keylock switch, enables users to alternate between modes and to change functions simply by turning the key and changing out the toner cartridges.

Network-ready, the MICR-enhanced Phaser 5400 is standard with 10/100Base-TX Ethernet, USB USB
