PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Further strengthening its position as the most innovative and cost-effective clinical e-documentation and reporting solution in the chiropractic and related health care fields, ACOM EMR has launched RAPID EMR v. 3.7, incorporating advanced data import, document cloning and mutation features that allow doctors to maintain the uniqueness of their SOAP notes and reports while gaining dramatic savings in time and effort, it was announced today by Gregory T. RAPID EMR 3.7 enables doctors to import all or part of the data contained in any previously completed SOAP or exam note to create a new document, eliminating the need to begin with a blank page and reenter all personal, diagnostic, symptom and treatment information for each patient visit. Previously, only the information from the immediately previous document has been available.

The new cloning feature allows doctors to replicate any previous document, with the newly created document independent of the original and open to such modifications as are appropriate.

Where treatments and conditions do not change from visit-to-visit, RAPID EMR's new mutation capability allows doctors to modify the cloned document using their own stored terminology to indicate that the patient visit has in fact occurred and that a treatment/exam has been performed. Time spent reconstructing the respective document is avoided as is the likelihood that a claim or billing will be challenged.

According to Church, competitors' randomization-mutation approaches rely on canned phraseology, which can lead to newly created documents being questioned as well as result in alterations of meaning. Conversely, in the RAPID EMR approach, text boxes are provided for diagnostics and treatment pages in which doctors can build their own sets of phraseology to use to differentiate cloned documents. And rather than automate the random mutation of documents as competitive solutions do, RAPID EMR allows its users to review each modification to assure that meaning is not changed in any way.
