ACOG, AAP develop breastfeeding handbook.


The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) is a professional association of medical doctors specializing in obstetrics and gynecology in the United States. ) and the American Academy of Pediatrics The American Academy of Pediatrics ("AAP") is an organization of pediatricians, physicians trained to deal with the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. Its motto is: "Dedicated to the Health of All Children.  (AAP AAP - Association of American Publishers ) announced the publication of the first collaborative breastfeeding guide aimed at physicians. The Breastfeeding Handbook for Physicians aims to enhance awareness of the benefits and importance of breastfeeding and increase the knowledge of breastfeeding physiology and practice. The book is designed to be an easy reference for clinical use on a day-to-day basis.

The book includes the latest policy statements on breastfeeding from both ACOG and the AAP.
