ACN Appoints Four New Executives.

TROY, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 5, 1999--American Communications Network, Inc. (ACN), recently named the 22nd fastest growing, privately held company in America by Inc. magazine, is pleased to announce the appointment of four new executives. The new executive team includes: Jayne Diorka, Vice President-Corporate Controller; Steve Hardy, Vice President of Information Technology; Kim McDonald, Chief Operating Officer of U.S. Operations; and Glenn Williams, Chief Operating Officer of the ACN Energy division.

Jayne Diorka joins ACN with more than 12 years of telecommunication experience. Most recently employed as the Vice President and Corporate Controller of Midcom Communications, Inc., she has also held senior positions at Frontier Communications and Allnet Communications. Diorka will be responsible for all financial and accounting functions of ACN. Diorka earned a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, from Western Michigan University.

Steve Hardy joins ACN with nearly 10 years of telecommunications and information technology experience. Most recently employed as the Director of Retail Operations at IXC Communications, he has also held positions at Overlook Communications and EDS. He will be responsible for all Information Technology operations within the U.S. Hardy earned a bachelor's in Business Administration with a focus in Finance. He is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).

Kim McDonald joins ACN with more than 15 years experience in telecommunications. She has held many executive and management positions, most recently heading the wholesale and retail market initiatives for IXC Communications Inc. She will be responsible for ACN's U.S. telecommunications operations and services provided to independent representatives. McDonald earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.

Glenn Williams joins ACN with over 20 years of experience in leading, managing, and organizing energy utility programs. Most recently employed as the CEO for EnergyChoice/NPC, William's other accomplishments include serving as a professional speaker on the topics of strategic planning, deregulated energy, energy derivatives, and public policy; and authoring and publishing a number of articles on the subjects of strategic, program, and project management. He will be responsible for all aspects of development and implementation of the ACN Energy division, based in McLean, Virginia. Williams earned a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University, and a masters' in Business Administration from the University of Maryland.
