ACLJ Says Senate Approval of John Ashcroft Clears Way for Welcomed Change At the Justice Department.

 for Law and Justice, an international public interest law firm, said today's Senate approval of the nomination of John Ashcroft John David Ashcroft (born May 9 1942) is an American politician who was the 79th United States Attorney General. He served during the first term of President George W. Bush from 2001 until 2005. Ashcroft was previously the Governor of Missouri (1985 – 1993) and a U.S.  as Attorney General clears the way for Ashcroft to bring change to the Justice Department - representing a new and welcomed commitment to defending the constitution.

The ACLJ collected nearly 233,000 names from people across the nation during a petition campaign in support of the Ashcroft nomination. The results of the petition campaign were forwarded to members of the Senate before today's vote.
