"More businesses are recognizing the value of offering free managed wireless Internet access versus fee-based service," says Greg Skinner, President of ACJ. "Paying for access at one location that doesn't work at another location can get expensive. While there's a cost to offering access for free, if used in conjunction with a purchase, this service can pay for itself in addition to growing a loyal customer base. Customers tend to appreciate this amenity."

ACJ offers a variety of managed access solutions for any size business and it works just like those offered by fee-based providers including, secure username The name you use to identify yourself when logging into a computer system or online service. "This is a great tool for businesses to promote specials to a captive audience," says Skinner.

So why not buy a $50 access point and offer the service? "We hear this a lot," says Skinner "When people do this, they have no control of who accesses the network. A neighboring business or hacker can use the signal. In addition, they lose an opportunity to promote their business on the login page."
