ACIPCO was recognized by Fortune magazine as one of the "100 Best Companies to Work for in America." The firm is the only pipe manufacturer ever to receive the honor.

Two-thirds of the scoring is based on answers provided by randomly selected employees, with the remaining third reflecting Fortune's evaluation of pay and benefits, life-balance programs, opportunities, job security and pride in the company. The magazine cited ACIPCO's medical and dental care as an outstanding attribute. Other initiatives include employee representation, profit-sharing, pension plan, tuition reimbursement, training and cash incentives for increased efficiency.

ACIPCO produces ductile iron Ductile iron, also called ductile cast iron or nodular cast iron, is a type of cast iron invented in 1943 by Keith Millis[1]. Wescast attributed the recognition to its "Scanlon" system of participative management, which centers around monthly gainsharing, annual profit sharing profit sharing, arrangement by which employees receive, in addition to their wages, a share of the net profits of a business. The purpose is to give them an incentive to increase their output through enhanced morale, less wasteful use of materials, better care of , cross-functional teams, encouraging suggestions, continuous training and communication.
