ACI and Wincor Nixdorf Strengthen Partnership and Embrace New Strategic Areas of ATM Collaboration.

AUSTIN, Texas -- ACI Worldwide (NASDAQ:TSAI), a leading international provider of enterprise payment solutions, and Wincor Nixdorf, one of the world's leading providers of IT solutions to retailers and retail banking, today announce plans to intensify their existing partnership and expand beyond the current working relationship into new strategic areas of collaboration.

ACI and Wincor Nixdorf share a long successful partnership in delivering end-to-end multi-vendor solutions into customer environments. Based upon this joint success story, both companies have agreed to bring their partnership to the next level. With the companies' commitment to adopt and embrace industry standards, three strategic areas of joint development, sales and delivery services have been selected as the stepping stones for tightening this relationship. The joint goal is to provide solutions that are more flexible, cost-effective and easier to integrate into existing environments in order to provide banking customers more value-add services at the ATM. The strategic areas of collaboration include:

-- Roll out of IFX as open standard in an ATM Client/Server environment: Both companies will combine their individual go-to-market activities to leverage early international successes of IFX-based solutions to the broader financial services community. Wincor Nixdorf's ProCash IFX together with ACI's BASE24-es, implementing the IFX 1.7 specifications, has been currently released to a joint customer project. Direct links between the core development teams also ensure the quality and the productizing of future versions of the respective IFX solution components.

-- Operating ATM networks in a Managed Services environment: Wincor Nixdorf has established an eServices Platform to operate complete ATM networks, including all surrounding business and logistical processes. ACI's BASE24-es has been selected as the foundation for the handling of financial transaction services. Wincor Nixdorf's unique eServices platform is designed to operate multiple ATM and Client-Server networks.

-- Delivering a Service Oriented Architecture for ATMs in a Net Centric environment: With ProClassic/Enterprise (PC/E), Wincor Nixdorf is pushing the envelope for ATM solutions again, with regards to openness and the adoption of industry standards. Leveraging J2EE as the technology platform, operating the ATM in a thin-(smart)-client mode and implementing the concept of a service oriented architecture (SOA). PC/E provides faster functionality and flexible services into the self-service channel than any previous ATM application.

Banks and financial institutions can now use standard Internet technology to respond in a more proactive and cost-effective manner to challenging business needs in operating their most frequently used customer touchpoint. ACI's BASE 24-es is designed to operate in such a service-oriented architecture environment. In addition, dedicated business services for transaction settlement can be integrated more seamlessly.
