Drain students head for business event

North Douglas High School Douglas High School (DHS) is a public secondary school in Minden, Nevada that is a part of the Douglas County School District. The school mascot is the Tiger, and the school's colors are orange and black. Their teams are known as the "Douglas Tigers.  students Lanelle Gregory and Brittany Meza will be part of Oregon's delegation to the Future Business Leaders of America national conference in Florida in June.

Gregory finished first in a state competition in the program's scrapbook A Macintosh disk file that holds frequently used text and graphics objects, such as a company letterhead. Contrast with "clipboard," which is reserved memory that holds data only for the current session.  category, and Meza placed second in the economics division. The Drain students plan to raise $4,113 to send Gregory, Meza and adviser Sharon Ruud to the national event.

Eugene Elks announce scholarships

The Eugene Elks Lodge recently announced its most valuable student scholarship award recipients. Steena Chandler Chandler, city (1990 pop. 90,533), Maricopa co., S central Ariz., in the Salt River valley; inc. 1920. It is both a residential community and a center for research and technology. Tourism is also important, and the San Marcos Golf Resort is in Chandler.  of Sheldon High School Sheldon High School may refer to:
  • Sheldon High School (Eugene, Oregon)
  • Sheldon High School (Iowa)
  • Sheldon High School (Missouri)
  • Sheldon High School (Sacramento, California)
  • Sheldon High School Summer Theatre, Sheldon, Iowa
 placed first in the girl's division, while Julie Robertson of Churchill High School finished second.

In the boy's division, Kyle Gerry of Sheldon was first, followed by Taylor Bennion of Churchill.

First place recipients each receive $750. Second place winners receive $500.

In addition, Gerry placed first in the district contest and received $1,600. At the state level, he placed second and received $1,800.

Thurston business students honored

FBLA Florida Board of Landscape Architecture
 state leadership conference held in Portland.

Hilary Jevne placed first in computer applications, Rachel Hutchinson placed third in business procedures and eighth in public speaking, Caitlin Howe placed fifth in public speaking and, Dustin Taylor placed sixth in computer applications.

By placing first in her event, Jevne is eligible to attend the FBLA national leadership conference in June at Orlando, Fla.

Gail Lang is the Thurston High School chapter adviser.

Lane Education Service District's Professional and Technical Education Specialist Kristin Gunson was the recipient of the Oregon Association For Career and Technical Education's Outstanding Career and Technical Educator award for 2005.
