Committees are the heart of the Association and their activities are central to ACEI's Strategic Plan. Please look over the following list to and expertise. Not only will you receive professional recognition, but you will be contributing to ACEI's efforts on behalf of children and the professionals who work with them. Please volunteer today.

ACEI Standing Committees are Membership, Nominations, Publications, Teacher Educators: Professional Standards and NCATE, Public Affairs, and Awards. The Standing Committee Chairs are selected and appointed by the Executive Board. Standing Committee members serve 3-year terms.

ACEI Program Committees are International Outreach, Infancy/ Early Childhood, Intermediate/ Middle Childhood, Heritage, Research, Technology, and Diversity. The Program Committee Chairs are elected by Committee members. Program Committee members serve 2-year terms.

Awards

Responsible for evaluating new award proposals; keeps ACEI' s award program current with the needs of the membership; develops award guidelines and selection criteria; drafts appropriate application or nomination forms; select the winner(s) in each category and submits the name(s) to the Executive Board for final approval; assists Headquarters with efforts to promote ACEI's Awards Program. Members of the Awards Committee are ineligible to receive an award and they must wait at least one year after serving on the committee to be considered for an award.

Nominations

Seeks highly qualified candidates for election to ACEI Executive Board. Candidates should represent the diversity of the ACEI membership and possess the skills and experience necessary to meet the Association's current and future needs. To nominate an ACEI member for the Executive Board, review the qualifications for the position, complete an Executive Board Nomination/ Application Form, and submit it to ACEI Headquarters. Members of the Nominations Committee are ineligible to run for office and they must wait at least one year after serving on the committee to seek an Executive Board position.
