In the payoff period, however, ACEC's end-game poise and deep bench proved too much for their rivals. With 10 players fouling out from the contest, six from ACEC and another four NYIT, both teams crawled to the finish, and ACEC just did enough to narrowly secure the 12-point victory and the tournament's top title. Allan de Castro scored 40 points to lead the victors, while Omar Asmad and Eldrin Simpas finished with 20 apiece.
