ACE USA Special Risk Facilities Names Robert Dowe Regional Executive of Midwest.

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 18, 1999--

ACE USA Special Risk Facilities (SRF), which recently announced its new organizational structure since acquiring the CIGNA P&C business in July, has named Robert H. Dowe to its executive management team. As senior vice president, Dowe will lead the Midwest Region from its headquarters office in Chicago.

SRF's new executive team will lead the four major business units - Core Casualty, Casualty Specialty, Financial Products and Financial Solutions Group - operating through five regional territories: Northeast, Atlantic, Midwest, Southwest and Pacific. "By designating a senior vice president to lead each region, we've moved decision-making and accountability closer to our customers. These accomplished field executives will be of equal rank and assume responsibility for the profit and loss margins within their regions," Curcio said.

Prior to his current role, Dowe served as senior advisor/office of the president, where he handled various executive responsibilities for the SRF organization. From 1995 to 1999, he was senior vice president of Branch Operations for SRF, where he headed up management for nine underwriting/sales offices and the Customer Service Center. Dowe has also held various leadership positions in the field offices, including regional vice president of New Jersey and distribution vice president of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic territories. He began his career as an underwriter with Chubb & Son.

Dowe attended the University of Kansas. He has served as chairman of the board and fund drive campaign chairman for the United Way of Burlington County, in addition to being on the N.J. Governor's Task Force for the Handicapped. He currently resides in Cherry Hill, N.J. with his wife Cathleen and will relocate to Chicago after the new year.
