ACE USA Announces Regional Appointments in ACE Excess Casualty Division.

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 9, 2004

ACE USA, the U.S.-based retail operating division of The ACE Group of Companies, today announced two appointments in the ACE Excess Casualty Division of ACE Casualty Risk: Connie Germano has been named Eastern Zonal Manager and Mitchell Schmidt has assumed responsibility as Western Zonal Manager. Prior to that, Ms. Germano served in a variety of excess casualty management roles, including Divisional Vice President of AIG's Middle Market excess casualty product line.

Mitchell Schmidt:

Leading the Western Zone is Mitchell Schmidt, Vice President of ACE Excess Casualty who most recently served as Midwest Regional Excess Casualty Manager. He will be based in Chicago. The Western Zone encompasses the ACE Excess Casualty underwriting operations in Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  and San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden . Mr. Schmidt's previous significant insurance experience focused on underwriting excess casualty and primary risk management lines of business. He joined ACE USA in July of 2003 from Chubb Insurance Group, where he previously served as Midwest Regional Excess Casualty Manager, overseeing the growth, profit and loss activities of the excess book of business. Prior to that position, Mr. Schmidt served in a variety of regional excess casualty management roles for Chubb in St. Louis, Kansas City Kansas City, two adjacent cities of the same name, one (1990 pop. 149,767), seat of Wyandotte co., NE Kansas (inc. 1859), the other (1990 pop. 435,146), Clay, Jackson, and Platte counties, NW Mo. (inc. 1850).  and Chicago.
