Harrington is the only player among the top 13 draftees who hasn't signed, although many of them had come to predraft contract agreements.

``I'd rather not discuss the numbers, but we told the Colorado Rockies before the draft what it would take to sign me, and they said they'd get it done,'' Harrington said. ``They're not living up to what they said. They're playing games with us. If it gets done, it gets done. If not, I'm going to school on Aug. 21.''

Harrington, who throws 98 mph, committed to Arizona State before the season. His stock rose after leading all regional high school players in victories, strikeouts and ERA.

``Colorado has been threatening Matt with the alternatives and asking him why a kid would want to tie his hands,'' Tanzer said.

``I told them Matt knows the alternatives. He's had 10 weeks to study his alternatives. Matt could have signed a predraft deal with Minnesota. Colorado knew ahead of time what we wanted and they were thrilled to get us. They just haven't handled this right.''
