win over Pollok after normal time ended 3-3.

And with Beith top of the Super League the former Dumbarton player knows they are well placed to grab a trophy.

He said:"I see no reason why we can't go on and have a successful season.

"There is a great mixture of youth and experience and when you have a strikeforce who are capable of scoring goals you will always have a chance of winning any game.

"I called it quits on my 10 years at Dumbarton as I believed I could come here to win things and my thoughts haven't changed.

"There are still a lot of games left but confidence is high and at least we have put ourselves in a very good position." Pollok hit the front in the second minute when Calum Hardie picked out David McGeown who made no mistake.

Beith equalised midway through the half when John Spence's corner was fumbled by keeper Kris Robertson and Andy Reid nodded into the empty net.

Moments later Beith went 2-1 up as Kenny McLean beat Derek Wingate before slotting home with ease.

McGeown equalised after the break before Brittain's wonderful effort from distance made it 3-2.

With minutes left Lok won a penalty after Mark McShane used an arm and up stepped Davie Turnbull to drill home.

Beith keeper John Wight was the shoot-out hero, saving from Shaun Dillon and Ritchie Newall despite team-mate Derek McCulloch also missing.

Lok boss Jim Sinnett said:"We deserved to go through but it was not to be and we'll battle on."
