NBI builds on ACE*COMM's extensive experience in converging information for use by network operators to support business decision-making and better serve their customers.

"Network business intelligence is an emerging OSS function: it supports telecom data integrity, management, and analysis, with a focus on actionable intelligence Having the necessary information immediately available in order to deal with the situation at hand. With regard to call centers, it refers to agents having customer history and related product data available on screen before the call is taken. ," said Dr. Lorien Pratt, Program Manager, OSS Competitive Strategies, Stratecast Partners - a Division of Frost & Sullivan. "ACE*COMM is a thought leader in this space with a number of existing assets and references."

ACE*COMM's new NBI suite collects data from disparate parts of an operator's network and environment, enables the correlation and analysis of data from many internal and external network sources, and provides tools for the operator to uncover revenue leakage, improve asset deployment, optimize marketing expenditures, facilitate network planning, and provide for the efficient migration of network resources. NBI also has the potential to identify where services need to be improved or new services can be introduced.

Industry estimates indicate that operators may lose from 3% to 15% of their revenues from leakage, which represents up to $140 billion(1) annually. ACE*COMM's NBI solutions have already been successfully deployed to reclaim $170 million per year in untapped subscriber revenues for one European Tier one carrier, and uncover $41 million in unused network capacity for another UK carrier.

"Many OSS initiatives fail to produce the claimed returns, which is why so many operators continue to patch their legacy systems year after year," said Mr. Chris Couch People named Chris Couch include:

ACE*COMM's NBI suite now consists of over 30 distinct products that have been deployed for wired, cable, mobile, and data operators, and are all assembled from the NBI application platform. Key platform applications include: NBI Dashboard, which presents the findings of data interrogation interrogation

visual formats and enables users to see how the business is operating at any time; Resolution Manager, which tracks, assigns, and resolves discrepancies to ensure that projected ROI is realized; and N*VISION(R), the network data warehouse product.

The ACE*COMM NBI suite collects and integrates network data with other sources such as customer data and service data to provide a comprehensive view of an operator's business. This information can be utilized to identify discrepancies, for example, between the network and the billing system resulting in the identification of revenue opportunities and avoidance of unnecessary capital expenditure. It also identifies how specific network assets are being utilized, identifying assets or even specific ports on switches that may be underutilized, enabling the operator to re-allocate resources more efficiently.

ACE*COMM's NBI network and market visualization applications allow operators to tailor marketing activities based on available capacity, and understand customer demographics to improve product promotion effectiveness. They also enable operators to identify where new infrastructure should be installed based on density of target customers and remaining capacity.

ACE*COMM is unveiling its expanded NBI suite at the Telestrategies Revenue Assurance Fall 2005 Conference, September 28 & 29, Phoenix, and the Telecom Business Intelligence 2005 Conference, September 28 & 29, London, UK.
