ACCREDITATION WHERE CREDIT IS DUE.


Every recreation and park agency is concerned with the efficiency and effectiveness of its operations. Appraising how well an agency is doing operationally is a difficult task that requires standards determined through broad review of diverse agencies and the experience of recognized competent professionals. Standards are statements of desirable practice leading to quality services and programs for the population served. The first formal document based on such review, issued in 1965, is now replaced by the Self-Assessment Self-assessment in an organisational setting, according to the EFQM definition, refers to a comprehensive, systematic and regular review of an organisation's activities and results referenced against the EFQM Excellence Model.  Manual for Quality Operation of Park and Recreation Agencies, which details the standards administered by the Commission for Accreditation accreditation,
