ACCIDENT FIGURES FALL FOR DRIVERS.


NORTH West road accidents involving younger people has dipped.

The latest official figures show that last year there were 8,622 personal injury accidents in which drivers or riders were under 25.

That was down from almost 9,240 the previous year and from a 12,525 high in 1998.

Last year the total killed across the region in such accidents was 92, down from 131 in 2006.

1. To cause physical harm to; hurt.

2. To cause damage to; impair.

 fell from nearly 1,290 to 1,172 between 2006 to the end of 2007, while minor injuries fell from almost 11,400 to 10,426.
