ACCESSORIES - BUT NOT TO A CRIME.

Byline: - Diana McKeon Charkalis

This year, the stars accessorized with classic flair. Here's a look at some of what was seen:

Up and away: Updos swept the red carpet this year with stars too numerous to count sporting them. This included Jessica Alba, who put her hair back and up, revealing ladybugs tattooed on the back of her neck. She said her mom has the same thing.

Big to-do: Is ``Hairspray'' back in town? From the looks of Helena Bonham Carter's and Tim Burton's 'dos, the answer is yes. Gary Busey also had the messy look down pat.

Jewelry as a statement: Stars including Michelle Williams and Keira Knightley opted for dramatic necklaces to match their gowns. Knightley's was vintage 1960s Bulgari Bulgari: see Bulgars, Eastern.. ``What's the point of being subtle at the Oscars?'' she asked. ``You've got to go for it.''
