ACC completes 20,000 s/f outpatient clinic in Brooklyn.

ACC Construction has completed a 20,000-square-foot Outpatient Health Center for St. Mary's Hospital at 211 Powell Street in Brooklyn, NY, to provide methadone maintenance, medically supervised alcohol treatment programs and individual and group counseling services, announces Michele Medaglia, president of the construction management and general contracting firm.

ACC successfully completed the project under the supervision of Robert Haussmann, Director of Facilities Management for St. Vincent's Catholic Medical Center, the comprehensive health care system that includes St. Mary's Hospital and seven other hospitals. Andrew Viviani was the Project Executive for ACC Construction.

"Knowing the impact this facility will have on the community made it an extremely rewarding project for us," says Ms. Medaglia. "And working with a professional as skilled and knowledgeable as Bob Haussmann was an integral part of its success."

The three-story structure is a steel moment frame in compliance with the New York City seismic code. The first floor contains a large skylight, waiting rooms, central methadone distribution area, examination rooms, perimeter counseling offices and administrative offices.

The second floor houses additional program areas, counseling offices and more support staff. The lower level floor houses additional offices and storage. The facility is ADA compliant, with an elevator that services all three levels.
