ACA presents national awards.ACA ACA - Application Control Architecture announced the winners of several national awards at the ACA National Conference in Denver, Colorado. The individuals and groups were recognized for their contributions to the camp movement, their efforts to promote the camp experience, their service to others, and their dedication to excellence. It is awarded to an ACA member who has already received a section award and continues to give service to at least three sections or districts. * Cindy Beaudoin * Pam Cobb Eleanor P. Eells Award for Program Excellence Eleanor P. Eells was a leader and an inspiration throughout her life. The awards for program excellence are designed to: * motivate staff to develop effective, creative responses to the needs of people through camp; * encourage the development of creative responses to societal so·ci·e·tal adj. To illustrate by example: exemplify an argument. b. these objectives. Two programs were recognized this year: * Happiness Is Camping Happiness is Camping is a non-profit ACA accredited camp. The camp is located in Blairstown, New Jersey. During the summer, there is a free summer camp program for children with cancer and their siblings. for Children with Cancer * The Mentor Program at the Girls' Vacation Fund, New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of The Ernest F. Schmidt Memorial Endowment The Ernest F Schmidt Memorial Endowment was established by his friends and family to honor him and to provide an annual scholarship for a Boy Scout professional to attend an educational event sponsored by ACA. * Nathan Bale The Jack Weiner Young Leadership Award Jack Weiner was a revered member of the camp community throughout the country. His career spanned more than sixty years. Jack exemplified the positive leadership that is the foundation of the camp movement. This award honors his memory and creates a legacy to continue his work. The award provides financial support (i.e., airfare air·fare n. Fare for travel by aircraft.
