Bayern began the day equal on points with Wolfsburg but stuttered to a 2-2 draw with a battling Hoffenheim.

Franck Ribery put Bayern ahead in 16 minutes when he tucked home the rebound to Lukas Podolski's cross.

Hoffenheim replied through Demba Ba's deflected effort before Carlos Eduardo put the home side ahead.

But a Luca Toni header just before the break was enough to seal a vital point.

Elsewhere, Sevilla kept their European hopes on track in a 0-0 draw with Osasuna..
