The SCBC hears civil and criminal law cases as well as appeals from the Provincial Court of British Columbia. in which it ruled in favour of Inmet Mining Corporation and against Homestake Canada Inc. The judgement awards Cdn$88.2 million to Inmet relating to the termination of the agreement by Homestake to purchase the Troilus Mine in 1997. Barrick Gold Corporation is reviewing the court judgement in relation to pursuing an appeal before the British Columbia Court of Appeal
