ABS Canon Gets New Identity; Now Known as Canon Business Solutions.

BURLINGTON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 20, 2000

Affiliated Business Solutions (ABS Canon), the Burlington, New Jersey, company that is a subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc. and provides customers with digital network printing, color and black-and-white copying, faxing and large format printing solutions, will be known as Canon Business Solutions, effective January 1, 2001. Canon U.S.A. is a subsidiary of Canon, Inc. (NYSE:CAJ).

The official name is Canon Business Solutions-Southeast, Inc., which will differentiate this company from the other three Canon U.S.A. sales subsidiaries -- MCS Business Solutions (headquartered in New York), Ambassador Business Solutions (Chicago) and Astro Business Solutions (Gardena, California) - that also are adopting the new name of Canon Business Solutions. MCS will be known as Canon Business Solutions-Northeast, Inc., Ambassador will be known as Canon Business Solutions-Central, Inc. and Astro will be known as Canon Business Solutions-West, Inc.

"The name change does not signify a new organization, but it emphasizes the strength and breadth of our support services," said Bill Reed, senior vice president and general manager, Subsidiary Sales Division, Canon U.S.A., Inc. "With one name, differentiated only by location, our customers will know we have the ability to meet their needs anywhere. This is particularly relevant for national accounts that need local support for their regional locations."

ABS Canon is communicating the name change to Canon Business Solutions through various media elements. These include radio, television, outdoor signage and transit signage. The first four months are dedicated to advertising, which informs people that ABS Canon has changed its name to Canon Business Solutions. In March, the advertising message will focus on branding the name Canon Business Solutions and communicating the broad range of capabilities the company has to offer.

ABS Canon, headquartered in Burlington, New Jersey, employs over 700 people and has offices in Philadelphia and Horsham, Pennsylvania; Wilmington, Delaware; and offices in Arlington, Virginia, and Baltimore, Maryland that began operations earlier this year. ABS Canon provides clients with digital network printing, color and black and white copying, duplicating, faxing and large format printing along with business services consultation and outsourcing. Sintaks, ABS Canon's system integration company, provides clients with additional support resources that focus on capabilities in IT Systems and Internet applications.
