ABS CBN Foundation (USA) Appoints Conchita Lopez Taylor Chair Emeritus; Raffy Lopez Elected Chairman of Foundation Focused on Filipino Philanthropy.

(USA), a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds and improving the lives of abused and disadvantaged children and their families in the Philippines, today announced the appointment of Conchita Lopez Taylor as its Chair Emeritus as she retires as chairperson of the Foundation's operating board. Under her leadership, the Foundation raised more than $2.5 million to help disadvantaged children and their families, primarily in the Philippines.

The event was held at the new ABS-CBN Global headquarters in Redwood City, California Redwood City is a suburb located on the San Francisco Peninsula in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. Redwood City is the county seat of San Mateo County. As of the 2005 census, the city had a total population of 76,000.  and featured a musical performance by Filipino-American Broadway artist, Stephanie Reese.

"I have worked with Chita since the inception of the Foundation and I will personally miss her in our board meetings, but I am sure the Foundation will always benefit from her wise counsel and advice as Chair Emeritus," said Santisteban.

ABS CBN Foundation's other key programs include Educational TV, a value formation and curriculum enhancement program for public elementary schools, and Bayan Microfinance, a poverty alleviation and community economic opportunities program. The Foundation also promotes Bantay Kalikasan (Nature Watch), encouraging clean air and water for the people of Metro Manila.
