ABP COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF INTERNATIONAL ENVELOPE COMPANY

ATLANTA, Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- American Business Products, Inc. (NYSE: ABP) today announced it has consummated the acquisition of the assets and certain liabilities of International Envelope Company in a cash transaction.
International Envelope company, a leading manufacturer of Tyvek(R) envelopes and specialty paper envelopes, will operate as a division of American Fiber-Velope Mfg. Co., the ABP subsidiary which also produces Tyvek products, said Thomas R. Carmody, president and chief executive officer of ABP.
The acquired company had sales of approximately $42 million in 1992. Founded in 1973, International Envelope is based in Exton, Pa., and has 238 employees. Its Survivor(R) brand of Tyvek envelopes is recognized and respected throughout the office products market.
