ABO to honor Larry Silverstein at annual Dinner Dance Nov. 1.The Associated Builders and Owners of Greater New York (ABO ABO See: Accumulated Benefit Obligation) will hold a Tribute Dinner at the Marriott Marquis hotel on Nov. 1 in place of what had been planned as a black-tie Dinner Dance. The event will honor the victims of the World Trade Center attack and rescuers who have labored day and night in the weeks since. Net proceeds from the event will gratefully be donated to charities benefiting victims' families and affected businesses. As previously planned, the ABO will honor key industry leaders. In a ceremony that will be loaded with added meaning since the destruction of Sept. 11, Donald Trump will present the 2001 Fred C. Trump Award for lifetime achievement to Larry Silverstein, the leaseholder on the World Trade Center towers. "We must try to continue with our daily activities," said Jerome Belson, president of the ABO. "The real estate industry will band together to help alleviate the problems encountered since September 11 and rebuild our great city." Cocktails will be served as of 6:30 p.m., and dinner at 8 p.m. For more information or to RSVP, please contact the ABO at (212) 385-4949. |
