ABO picks winners of awards program.

The Associated Builders and Owners of Greater New York has announced the winners of its prestigious annual awards program. In a decision made before Sept. 11, the ABO selected Larry Silverstein, leaseholder on the World Trade Center towers and president of Silverstein Properties, to receive the 2001 Fred C. Trump Award for Lifetime Achievement. Donald Trump himself has agreed to present the award to Silverstein.

The ABO's Developer of the Year is Jeffrey Wilpon, executive vice president of Sterling Equities.

Woman of the Year is Adrienne Albert, president of The Marketing Directors, Inc., recognized for her contributions to the real estate industry in New York. Associate of the Year is Louis Romano, senior vice president of Castle Oil Corporation. ATCO Properties has been named Management Company of the Year.

The Emma Lazarus Special Recognition Awardees, who are honored for their dynamic leadership in business, are: Robert S. Ecker, Michael Fonseca, Robert Robbins, Roger Imperial, Albert Palladino, Howard Weimer, Eileen Feigin, Jane Gladstein, Michael Gill and Aiden Devancy.

The award recipients will be recognized at a Tribute Dinner on Nov. 1 am 6:30 p.m. The business-casual event will raise money for the victims of the World Trade Center attack and the rescuers who have labored day and night since. It replaces an earlier black-tie event.
