ABO Dinner Dance celebrates 89 years and many successes.The Associated Owners and Builders of Greater New York, Inc.' (ABO ABO See: Accumulated Benefit Obligation ) hosted its spectacular annual Dinner Dance at the Marriott Marquis on November 3rd. As it celebrated. its 89th year as one of real estate's leading voices, ABO, in typical fashion, also paid special tribute the best and brightest of the industry. The event, drew its largest-ever crowd, and was marked by a grand cocktail party and a particularly special awards ceremony. This year, ABO presented its first Fred C. Trump Outstanding Real Estate. Achievement Award to honor the memory of an industry icon. Donald Trump, in attendance with siblings Robert Trump, Elizabeth Trump Grau and Mary Ann Trump Barry, who a week earlier was named to the Third Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals The United States courts of appeals (or circuit courts) are the intermediate appellate courts of the United States federal court system. A court of appeals decides appeals from the district courts within its federal judicial circuit, and in some instances from other , presented the award to real estate veteran Peter Kalikow. "This year's event was both celebratory and moving," said Jerome Belson, ABO president. Among the honorees were Ron Moelis and Sandy Loewentheil, the principals and owners of L&M Equity Participants, Ltd., who shared the ABO "Developer of the Year" award. L&M was launched in 1984 by Loewentheil, who is a builder, and Moelis, who is. a real estate attorney. Focusing on construction and development of affordable housing, with a particular expertise in governmental subsidy financing, the-firm has created over 4,000 units of housing totaling approximately $350 million. Peter S. Kalikow Peter S. Kalikow (b. December 1, 1942) is the present chairman of the Grand Central Partnership[1]S. Kalikow, having been appointed by New York Governor and fellow Republican George Pataki in 2001. Kalikow was reappointed in 2006 to serve a second term. , president of H.J. Faith Hope Consolo was named ABO "Woman' of the Year." Consolo is vice chairman of Garrick-Aug Associates and founder of Garrick-Aug Worldwide; which works with prominent international retailers in identifying and securing optimal locations for their U.S. stores and retail operations.
