ABO Dinner Dance celebrates 89 years and many successes.

The Associated Owners and Builders of Greater New York, Inc.' (ABO) hosted its spectacular annual Dinner Dance at the Marriott Marquis on November 3rd. As it celebrated. its 89th year as one of real estate's leading voices, ABO, in typical fashion, also paid special tribute the best and brightest of the industry.

The event, drew its largest-ever crowd, and was marked by a grand cocktail party and a particularly special awards ceremony. This year, ABO presented its first Fred C. Trump Outstanding Real Estate. Achievement Award to honor the memory of an industry icon. Donald Trump, in attendance with siblings Robert Trump, Elizabeth Trump Grau and Mary Ann Trump Barry, who a week earlier was named to the Third Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals, presented the award to real estate veteran Peter Kalikow.

"This year's event was both celebratory and moving," said Jerome Belson, ABO president. "It was a wonderful evening, and I'm delighted that we were able to memorialize Fred Trump in this manner, and to pay tribute to several industry notables."

Among the honorees were Ron Moelis and Sandy Loewentheil, the principals and owners of L&M Equity Participants, Ltd., who shared the ABO "Developer of the Year" award. L&M was launched in 1984 by Loewentheil, who is a builder, and Moelis, who is. a real estate attorney. Focusing on construction and development of affordable housing, with a particular expertise in governmental subsidy financing, the-firm has created over 4,000 units of housing totaling approximately $350 million.

Peter S. Kalikow, president of H.J. Kalikow & Company, LLC, is a preeminent figure in both real estate and political circles. Kalikow is the third generation to preside over his family's 75-year-old real estate company. He is currently a commissioner of the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, and is the former owner and

The Honorable Joseph P. Lynch was given the ABO "Public Service Award." In his long and heralded career as a public servant, Lynch has accumulated quita list of achievements. He is currently the Commissioner of the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR).

Faith Hope Consolo was named ABO "Woman' of the Year." Consolo is vice chairman of Garrick-Aug Associates and founder of Garrick-Aug Worldwide; which works with prominent international retailers in identifying and securing optimal locations for their U.S. stores and retail operations.

Thomas Graf was named "Associate of the Year." He is the first vice president of Amalgamated Bank of New York, where he runs the commercial real estate finance division, which is responsible for financing construction and development projects.

Webb and Brooker was named ABO's "Management Company of the Year." The firm has a stellar reputation for hands-on, detail-oriented management that has translated into a host of signature properties that the firm manages for many of New York's leading financial institutions.
