ABO's 25th annual Trade Show another big hit.The Associated Builders and Owners of Greater New York's 25th annual BuildingsNY Tradeshow, the largest, most extensive real estate tradeshow on the East Coast, was a huge success. More than 9,100 industry members jam-packed the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center Jacob K. Javits Convention Center is a large convention center on the west side of Manhattan in New York City. It was designed by architects I. M. Pei and partners. The revolutionary space frame structure was built in 1986 and named for New York Senator Jacob K. for the two-day event held on June 21 and 22. Over 675 exhibitors provided information on innovative products and cost effective services, as well as the latest news in management, security, renovation, restoration and retrofit services. This year's show also featured more than 30 seminars that included topical sessions on security, energy issues, new technologies, and building maintenance issues. Overall, there was a seven percent increase in attendance of industry professionals from last year. (Clara) Virginia Fields was born in Birmingham, Alabama circa 1946 and received her B.A. , Congressman Anthony Weiner and former Bronx Borough President Freddy Ferrer participated in a spirited mayoral forum in which the candidates discussed a number of issues facing the real estate industry including affordable housing, the new building code, the 2012 Olympics and development downtown and on the West side.
