ABM Industries, Inc. Ranked among Top 25 California Companies with Large Percentage of Women Executives.

SAN FRANCISCO -- ABM Industries Incorporated (NYSE:ABM), one of California's 400 largest publicly traded companies, is ranked 20th in a major research project that found more than 27 percent of the company's directorships and executive positions are held by women. In partnership with the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and Executives, the UC Davis Graduate School of Management released "The UC Davis Study of California Women Business Leaders," to examine whether women's participation in top level decision-making positions is increasing.

"It's an honor to chair the board of an organization that is so committed to attracting and promoting women for key leadership roles," said ABM Industries Board Chairman Maryellen Herringer, who also serves on the boards of PG&E Corporation, Pacific Gas & Electric Company and Wachovia Corporation.

Based on Standards & Poor's data of the top 400 California companies distinguished by net revenue for fiscal 2005, the study identified the top 25 companies whose board of directors and executive positions were held by at least 25 percent women. ABM Industries was rated 20th in the study, with 27.8 percent women within its top management ranks. Hot Topic, Bebe Stores, Gymboree, Jack In The Box, Charles Schwab, The Gap, DreamWorks Animation, Hewlett-Packard and Wells Fargo are among the other leaders.

The Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and Executives is a nonprofit network that promotes the success of women entrepreneurs and executives. It offers peer-to-peer networks, and professional and educational programs.

The UC Davis Graduate School of Management, celebrating its 25th anniversary, provides management education to more than 400 students on the Davis campus, in Sacramento and in the San Francisco Bay Area. Among its national rankings, The Princeton Review has recognized it as one of the top 10 business schools providing the greatest opportunity for women.
