This book offers an activity-based program to improve balance and mobility for both fit and frail older adults. The program provides about 130 exercises that focus on flexibility, strength, and cardiorespiratory endurance. The exercises and activities are designed for easy implementation in existing facilities, using inexpensive equipment. The program may be used within group or individual settings and can be customized according to level of instructor experience. Beginning instructors can follow a 16-week plan, and more experienced instructors may select exercises and activities from each of the five component categories to meet clients' individual needs. All of the exercises and activities are illustrated step-by-step with b&w photos. A companion web site offers client handouts. Scott is a fitness trainer.
