ABI Research forecasts rapidly increasing number of mobile cloud computing subscribers.

Analyst ABI Research forecasts that the number of mobile cloud computing (1) Running applications in or from network servers. Computing "in the cloud" may refer to a company's own network, but often refers to the Internet and the use of Web browser-based or rich client applications.  subscribers worldwide will grow rapidly over the next five years.

The company recently released a study of mobile cloud computing, which it believes is the first published report to examine this technology model in depth.

 the company, the number of mobile cloud computing subscribers will rise from 42.8m in 2008 (approximately 1.1% of all mobile subscribers) to over 998m in 2014 (nearly 19%).

Business productivity applications are forecast to dominate the mix of mobile cloud applications, particularly collaborative document sharing, scheduling and sales force management apps.

ABI Research also expects some or all of the major PaaS platforms, including Google, Amazon AWS AWS Amazon Web Services

AWS Advanced Warning System
AWS Advanced Wireless Services
AWS Automatic Weather Station
AWS Alien Workshop (skateboard company)
AWS Austria Wirtschaftsservice GmbH
 and Force.com, to market their mobile capabilities aggressively starting in 2010.
