During a year of record-breaking traffic and, comprehensive coverage of several monumental news stories, ABCNEWS.com garnered multiple journalism and Internet industry awards. At the same time, ABCNEWS.com expanded its reach tremendously through a number of key strategic marketing and distribution deals.

Reach & Traffic (according to Media Metrix, an independent Internet measurement service)
- ABCNEWS.com experienced 94% growth with unique users from November 1999 -
November 2000.

- ABCNEWS.com has grown 17% in pages per unique user per month and 35% in
minutes per user per month over the past year.

- ABCNEWS.com broke its previous daily traffic record of 11 million page views
(the day the Starr Report was issued) when, on Election Day 2000, the site
registered 27.1 million page views. The day after the election, ABCNEWS.com
registered over 27.1 million page views. During the following month, daily
traffic was more than double October 2000's average of 4.1 million unique
users.


Milestones

- During the 2000 presidential conventions, ABC News produced and

streamed five Webcasts live daily from an original production

set. Guests included key political representatives and analysts

such as Newt Gingrich and Christine Todd Whitman, and celebrities

such as Alec Baldwin and the WWF's The Rock.

- ABCNEWS.com's Webcast, SAMDONALDSON@ABCNEWS.COM, increased its

production to five days a week, live at 12:30 PM ET, and played

host to an eclectic group of guests, including Governor Jesse

Ventura, Ellen Degeneres, and Metallica's Lars Ulrich.

- ABCNEWS.com introduced a regularly scheduled investigative

Webcast series, "Chris Wallace's Internet Expose." Topics ranged

from online prostitution, mobsters Mobsters is a 1991 crime drama detailing the creation of the National Crime Syndicate/The Commission. Set in New York City during the Prohibition era, it's a somewhat fictionalized account of rise of Charles "Lucky" Luciano, Meyer Lansky, Frank Costello, and Benjamin "Bugsy" , UFOs and international spies.

- ABCNEWS.com launched ABCNEWS4KIDS, an interactive news service

for kids aged 8-12 years old.
