ABCNEWS.com Announces Plans for 2000 Presidential Convention Coverage.

:GO), will provide complete coverage of the 2000 presidential conventions in Philadelphia and Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  from a variety of angles -- using the latest technology to bring users gavel-to-gavel, up-to-the-minute reporting.

ABCNEWS.com's daily coverage will feature live 360-degree photos from the convention; message boards; and video and audio chats with political experts, delegates, ABCNEWS correspondents and VIPs. ABCNEWS' Internet operations run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and will use both online and television resources to provide the most comprehensive and interactive coverage on the Web.


Daily coverage will include:

--  Extensive news reports on the day's activities
--  Coverage and transcripts of speeches
--  Speaker profiles
--  Event schedules that will highlight key gatherings and parties
--  Special interests watch
--  ABCNEWS tracking polls

In addition, ABCNEWS.com will be utilizing its existing streaming
programs significantly throughout the conventions:

--  Sam Donaldson will host his Webcast "samdonaldson@abcnews.com" at
    the special time of 7:30 p.m. EDT, and a live video chat daily at
    11 p.m. EDT.
--  "Political Points" will share the latest political news, insight
    and analysis from ABCNEWS.com and The New York Times at 1:30 p.m.
    and 8 p.m. EDT.
--  World News Now's Allison Stewart will host a daily Webcast at 9
    p.m. EDT, offering users an irreverent look at convention
    activities and parties.
--  Ann Compton's Webcast "On Background" will profile an interesting
    convention delegate each day.


All of the streaming video A one-way video transmission over a data network. It is widely used on the Web as well as company networks to play video clips and video broadcasts. Computers in home networks stream video to digital media hubs connected to a home theater.  Webcasts will be available live and will be archived for viewing on demand at ABCNEWS.com.

ABCNEWS.com will create a remote newsroom near the convention floor and Internet Alley so its users can get instantaneous reports the minute news occurs. The Vote 2000 team consists of approximately 40 ABCNEWS.com writers, producers and technical support. Of this team, 20 will be present at both conventions, 15 will be dedicated to the conventions full-time in the New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 bureau, and at least five ABCNEWS correspondents will be working with ABCNEWS.com at all times.
