KHALIL GREENE

Senior shortstop from Clemson U.

The ABCA and Rawlings Sporting Goods cosponsor the All-Region and All-American teams, as well as the Player of the Year Award Several sports leagues honor their best player with an award called Player of the Year. In the United States, this type of award is usually called a Most Valuable Player award. The awards with the "player of the year" phrasing include these.  (a Rawlings "Gold Bat"). This award is presented to the nation's outstanding collegiate baseball player from each division, and to their school for permanent display.

The ABCA All-America teams are amateur baseball's oldest selections, dating to 1949. All division coaches have an opportunity to nominate and vote on these selections. ABCA's All-America Committee from each division then chooses the Player of the Year. Each of these honorees receives the ABCA/Rawlings Award for their respective division.
