The Disney-ABC Television Group named Brian Frons the president of the newly created Daytime, Disney-ABC Television Group in May 2006.  will again integrate e-commerce with television with "General Hospital" and "Port Charles."

Between now and the end of June, fans can add to their viewing experience online, while lending a hand to a worthy cause, by clicking on to ABC.com and purchasing the same T-shirts worn by "General Hospital" and "Port Charles" cast members leading up to the Nurse's Ball, an annual gala.

For the first time ever, the Nurse's Ball T-shirts will be available exclusively on ABC.com.

The Nurse's Ball, which will be featured in crossover episodes on both "General Hospital" and "Port Charles" on Wednesday, June 21, has long been a fan favorite. Now in its seventh year, the storyline features an evening of song and dance where Port Charles residents and General Hospital employees put their best foot forward to raise AIDS/HIV awareness.

A portion of the proceeds from the T-shirt sales on ABC.com will help support the fight against AIDS. Nurse's Ball is part of ABC Daytime's acknowledgement of Day of Compassion, an annual media event devoted to AIDS/HIV awareness. It began in 1993 when actor Neil Tadken watched an AIDS-themed episode of "One Life to Live" and was inspired by its honest communication of the AIDS crisis.

"This program is just one of the ways we are expanding our e-commerce opportunities," says Brian Bowman, vice president and general manger of ABC.com. "We are enabling visitors to fulfill an emotional connection by purchasing a product that is directly tied to their favorite program, which makes them feel as though they are a part of the show."

This is the second year that the Nurse's Ball T-shirts that have been featured within ABC Daytime programming have been offered on ABC.com and the first time that they will be offered exclusively on the Web site. For the past six years, the T-shirts have been available via an 800 number. ABC.com has also teamed up with "All My Children" to offer fans a crystal keepsake that was featured on the show during the holiday season.
