ABB Unit signs multi-year agreement with Birmingham Steel.


NORWALK, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 18, 1995--ABB Inc. announced today that one of its units has a multi-year contract with Birmingham Steel to provide electrical control system products and millwide performance consultation.

Productivity Partners(TM) goes beyond the traditional product transaction. It breaks new ground by setting up a continuing collaboration dedicated to improvements in the customer's productivity. In a joint statement, the two companies said they believe the program is the first of its kind in the metals industry and that it establishes a precedent for future relationships between companies and suppliers.
