ABA Trains Banks About How to Prevent 'Identity Theft' of their Customers.

Marketers who are concerned about the issues of customer privacy and prevention of illegal access to customer information should take note of a new ABA training program.

The ABA Identity Theft Prevention Training Program, which can be customized for the needs of individual banks, includes a range of training and education materials and presentations for bank employees. Some of the materials can be used to develop a training program to help bank customers protect themselves against identity theft.

One element of the program is "Privacy and Customer Information Security--An Employee Awareness Guide." The guide includes chapters on customer information security, identity theft, pretext inquiries, privacy policies and privacy, security and banking in the 21st century. The price of the guide is $99 for ABA members. Multiple copy discounts are available.

The training program is presented by American Privacy Consultants (APC), a market leader in helping banks implement appropriate privacy and information security strategies.
