AAHSA LAUDS LAZIO.


AAHSA AAHSA American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (formerly American Association of Homes for the Aging, AAHA)  applauded the Senate's passage recently of H.R. 5640, "a far-reaching housing bill," according to according to

 a statement by Larry McNickle, director, housing policy. This legislation "will strengthen HUD's successful Section 202 Program, which helps [not-for-profit] providers build safe, affordable housing for very low-income and frail older Americans," McNickle's statement read.

"Passage of this legislation is a fitting tribute to the work of Rep. Rick Lazio Enrico Anthony "Rick" Lazio (born March 13, 1958) is a former U.S. Representative from the state of New York. A Republican, he is most known for having run unsuccessfully against Hillary Rodham Clinton for the U.S. Senate in New York's 2000 Senate election.  (R-N R-N Raion (Russian, district; used in postal addresses) .Y.), who has been a champion for elderly housing during his six years in the House," MeNickle's statement continued.

"This legislation will enable [not-for-profit] providers of elderly housing to have access to development dollars and to provide services to residents as they age in place."
