AAHSA's San Francisco treat.

AAHSA's goal is to help members tell their stories to gain consumer confidence, fight ageism ageism Geriatrics A bias or belief that may be held by a health care provider that depression, forgetfulness, and other disorders are a normal part of aging and that older individuals will not benefit from treatment of mental disorders. AAHSA kicks off on a high note

With 65 years of journalism experience and gaining the public's trust, Walter Cronkite will kick off the opening general session with "Earn Public Trust--Lessons from One of the Most Trusted Public Figures in America." Now a senior citizen himself, Cronkite will teach others the value of earning the public's trust.

Educational opportunities

While there are new additions to the annual meeting, the educational purpose of the convention stays the same. Within their different professions, members can earn up to 32 hours of continuing education continuing education: see adult education.

There are 230 educational programs, segmented into eight specific tracks:

3. Financial and development strategies

4. Human resources development

5. Leadership, strategic planning, and change management

6. Management and operations

Focus on 2007

With 2007 around the corner, Jurich says fostering a deeper sense of leadership is a main goal for the upcoming year.
