AAFRC changes name.


The American Association American Association refers to one of the following professional baseball leagues:
  • American Association (19th century), active from 1882 to 1891.
  • American Association (20th century), active from 1902 to 1962 and 1969 to 1997.
 of Fundraising Counsel, publicly announces its new name: Giving Institute: Leading Consultants to Non-Profits.

, a name change was necessary to better embody what the organization represents. "The AAFRC AAFRC American Association of Fund-Raising Counsel  name has served us well as an organization for 70 years, but no longer aptly describes the scope of the work our member firms perform. After much deliberation deliberation n. the act of considering, discussing, and, hopefully, reaching a conclusion, such as a jury's discussions, voting and decision-making.


DELIBERATION, contracts, crimes.
 and consideration, we are changing our name to Giving Institute: Leading Consultants to Non-Profits."

He added, "Our member firms work internationally and do so much more for our clients than fund-raising consulting. But what is not changing is our dedication to ethics and sound business practices. Our Standards of Practice, well-known in the industry, will continue to serve as a benchmark in the field."
