 at the American Council on Education Established in 1918, the American Council on Education (ACE) is a United States organization comprising over 1,800 accredited, degree-granting colleges and universities and higher education-related associations, organizations, and corporations.  presented its Donna Shavlik Award to Caryn McTighe Musil, senior vice president at AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) An audio compression technology that is part of the MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 standards. AAC, especially MPEG-4 AAC, provides greater compression and better sound quality than MP3, which also came out of the MPEG standard.  & U. Presented annually, the award honors an individual whose leadership has demonstrated a sustained and continuing commitment to the advancement of women through actions or initiatives that enhance women's leadership development, career development, and mentoring opportunities and improve the campus climate for women.
