AAA To Replace Vehicle Batteries On Site.


ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 20, 1999--

 recently unveiled a plan to offer on-site battery diagnostic and replacement service for stranded member vehicles.

"Year after year, failed batteries are the leading cause of AAA member breakdowns, accounting for 22 percent of the 30 million emergency road service calls to AAA in 1998," said Marshall L. Doney, vice president, AAA Automotive Services.

The new service will have limited availability When customers of the PSTN make telephone calls, they commonly make use of a telecommunications network called a switched-circuit network. In a switched-circuit network, devices known as switches are used to connect the caller to the callee.  in select markets through 1999. Rollout of the program will take place over the next several years.

The AAA-exclusive mobile battery replacement program, developed by Club Assist, uses a proprietary technology that significantly reduces the time required to accurately diagnose battery failure.
