 Texas. The Weekend Gas Watch monitors the average price of gasoline gasoline or petrol, light, volatile mixture of hydrocarbons for use in the internal-combustion engine and as an organic solvent, obtained primarily by fractional distillation and "cracking" of petroleum, but also obtained from natural gas, by  at popular destinations for motoring trips.

The most expensive fuel can still be purchased in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. In Dallas, motorists are shelling out an average of $1.35 a gallon, with motorists in Fort Worth paying $1.34 a gallon.

"With world-wide stock prices in a slump, it's difficult to know if fuel prices will continue upward or retreat downward," said Rose Rougeau, spokesperson for AAA Texas. "The current fuel price averages are on par with what motorists were paying this time last year."
