AAA TRAVELERS RENTED MORE CARS; BOUGHT FEWER TRAVELERS CHEQUES IN 1991
 LAS VEGAS, April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- American Automobile Association members last year rented 12 percent more cars but bought 5 percent fewer American Express Travelers Cheques than in 1990, AAA reported today.
 AAA members rented approximately 1.6 million cars from Hertz and Avis in 1991 as part of the association's car rental discount program. Sales neared $228 million.
 With travelers check sales for 1991 at $2.6 billion, AAA has still more than tripled its sales in recent years and remains the largest seller of American Express Travelers Cheques.
 The motoring federation reported on its 1991 financial services to some 1,000 delegates and club officials from the United States and Canada during the group's 89th annual meeting at Bally's Resort Hotel here April 7-8.
 It was also reported that AAA/VISA and AAA/MasterCard credit card purchases by AAA members totaled $2.8 billion in 1991. AAA/VISA and AAA/MasterCard credit cards are available in 118 AAA clubs in 48 states.
 AAA is a federation of 145 motor clubs with more than 1,000 offices providing its members in the U.S. and Canada with travel, insurance, financial and auto-related services.
